Company earns QML status, expands scope of ISO registration to ISO 9001
SAN JOSE, Calif., December 11, 1997Xilinx, Inc., (NASDAQ:XLNX), today announced
that its quality processes have been certified by two key standards-setting organizations.
The Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) in Columbus, Ohio, granted full Qualified
Manufacturer Listing (QML) status to Xilinx effective November 20. The QML program
qualifies processes and materials rather than individual products or production lots.
Xilinx
received transitional QML status a year ago. Since 1988, Xilinx has supplied high
reliability
products in compliance with MIL-PRF-38535, appendix A, through the Standard
Microcircuit Drawing (SMD) program.
In addition, Xilinx expanded the scope of its ISO registration during November from ISO
9002 to
ISO 9001. Since October 1995, Xilinx has been ISO 9002 compliant, a certification that
covers
quality systems for manufacturing and testing of programmable logic devices. The new scope
of
registration covers the entire design control process.
