ACTEL AWARDED FULL QML STATUS

Certification Adds Further Assurance of Process and Procedure Compliance to MIL-PRF-38535 Standard

SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 22, 1999 - Actel Corporation (Nasdaq: ACTL) today announced it has been awarded Full Certification to Qualified Manufacturers Listing (QML) status. This certification confirms that Actel has an approved quality system and has control of its processes and procedures according to the standards laid out in the MIL-PRF-38535 specification.

QML certification was granted by the Defense Supply Center, Columbus, Ohio (DSCC). The QML program certifies processes and materials, rather than individual
products or production lots. Each new product line will then undergo extensive qualification prior to production shipments of QML qualified devices.  Actel has been supplying QML-qualified radiation hardened devices since 1996 through its partnership with Lockheed Martin Federal Systems. Actel will also continue to audit and control its approved subcontractors, to assure continuing compliance to the QML requirements.
