FM1608 Heavy Ion Test

Brookhaven National Labs, September, 1999

Three FM1608 (Plastic Package) parts were tested at the Brookhaven National Labs' Tandem Van de Graaff accelerator facility using Bromine at normal incidence  and energy of 244.4 MeV, yielding an LET of 38.1 MeV-cm2/mg and range of 32.2 um. All three devices latched immediately upon shutter opening (run # 40 was aborted before shutter opening due to operator error and disregarded). Because of the immediate low LET latchup, cross-section information and latchup threshold were not measured. Device bias was a nominal 5.0V for all runs, and each run was terminated almost immediately after the shutter was opened and the device under test latched.  A flux of approximately 1.7 x 104 ions/cm2 was used for all runs.
