"NESC – Safety and Mission Success through Engineering Excellence"
Ralph R. Roe
NASA Engineering and Safety Center (NESC)Abstract:
The NASA Engineering & Safety Center (NESC) began operations in October 2003, as an Agency-wide resource of technical expertise to help solve the Agency’s tough technical problems. The NESC consists of a core team of NASA senior technical leaders and matrixed teams in key disciplines with members from government, industry, and academia. In less than 2 years, the NESC has tackled some of the most interesting technical challenges facing the Agency, from landing a probe on Titan to fixing cracks on the Space Shuttle main propulsion system’s flowliner. This presentation will provide some examples of the projects in which NESC has been involved.
